Implantology is a branch of prosthetics where a titanium artificial root is placed into the jawbone to replace a missing natural tooth root. Dental implants are an excellent way to replace a missing tooth or teeth, as they feel completely natural in the mouth and, together with a crown, restore the tooth’s shape.
At KliinikPluss, we use original implants from the systems Ankylos and Neodent by Straumann.
Before placing a dental implant, a consultation is required. During this appointment, a thorough analysis and examinations are carried out, including an assessment of the patient’s general health, oral and dental health, and X-rays, including 3D imaging.
Dental implants can be used to replace both single and multiple missing teeth in the dental arch. In the case of a single missing tooth, once the implant has integrated with the bone, a dental crown matching the shape and function of the natural tooth is attached. If three or more teeth are missing, the patient may opt for a bridge supported by dental implants.
The implant is placed in a single visit under local anesthesia. Bone integration usually takes 3–4 months, after which the crown is attached to the implant.
Before implant placement, it is necessary to undergo professional cleaning with a dental hygienist to remove tartar, ensuring a clean environment in the mouth and the best possible healing after the procedure. For long-term results, excellent oral hygiene combined with regular professional cleanings at the hygienist is strongly recommended.
The first follow-up check is scheduled 6 months after the procedure.
